COL-ART (coordinated col-lective art) is an international (and now historic) art-movement, as are i.g. the Surrealisme, Pop-Art or the Astract Expressionism. A speciality of Col-Art is, that it brings together in one work at least two and often many different stiles, coordinating them. In more Col-Art is THE art-movement, who corresponds most to the ideals of a human, free and creative democracy. Dozens of Col-Art-realisations where produced in the last 45 years, worth to hang in museums, but still that art-direction is little known in the worldwide art-scene. Reason: During 34 years (from 1972 to 2006) we were actif outside the exclusive world of Visual Arts, proposing new ideas in the camps of pedagogy and therapy and publishing different books of that kind. Actually it looks as if COl-Art regains year for year more reputation, specifically in the international art-scene, and first museums are opening now their doors.
What does “Col-Art” means ?
First of all an abreviation for “col-lective coordinated art”:
Painters of very different stiles are coming together with their personal contribution in a group-painting, which is coordinated in it ́s composition.
The international and historic Col-Art-movement experiences these last five years a remarquable renaissance!
The first Col-Art-painting, realized 1968 in Zurich:
Three painters, three generations, three cultures, three stiles, each artist represented with three parts in the col-lective work.
Since its birth 1968 in Zurich the Col-Art-movement finds great interest and remarquable successes in Geneva, Biel-Bienne, Berne, Basel, in Paris, Milano, New York, Mexico City, in Bielefeld, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Hannover, Freiburg i.Br….
Within three years over 100 painters and hundreds of amateurs participate in the realization of Col-Art-works and from 1972 onwards the movement expands into the fields of pedagogy, therapy, free time,…. publishes several books, organizes hundreds of seminaires of creative communication in the group…
But it is only in 2006, that Col-Art finds (in Mexico) its renaissance as essential and promissing art-movement of our 21st century.
Our international movement of coordinated collective art – COL-ART- started in April 1968 in Zurich with a manifesto by swiss painter & writer Marc Kuhn:
Call to humanity for full awareness

Tied, a naive human being lives instinctive.
His world and his experiences form a whole.
Who has found himself,
lives fully aware and free ! His world view forms a complex whole.
Increasedly human beings loose their naiveté,
without reaching full awareness. They live in a gap, their efforts can have ill-fated effects.
We all are part of such humans, more or less.
We live –next to each other and in succession- in different occurence,
without the regular capacity, to connect them meaningfully.
We sense the contradictoriness of our thinking, our feelings,
but admit it only rarely.We claim something and act differently. We believe knowing something, but sense it differently. A large variety of influences hit us,
and we react, as good we can….
Overrichly irrigated, we are lonely.
To be in existence , we have our opinions,when we think them over, it’s rare that they consist. But we keep them,
a support is indispensable.
To be in existence, we tolter with others,
we register bluntly and forget.
We participate, offer what others desire
and are unsettled.
We fill out, talk over, act and have no time…
we keep superficial, profit and submit to sensuality.
We follow a severe program,
enjoy the foreign filtered and keep our prejudices.
All reactions have a sense,
only few are meaningful.
Let us become aware of all worlds around and within ourself. Let’s estimate them critically,
overllok them
and let’s connect them in a harmonic way.
The proceeding of undoing the forces in yourself, actions and attitudes,
looking through the spheres in yourself, connect them in a consistent manner, must mature slowly, be repeated again and again.
Conflicts, unpleasentnesses,
inhibitions of all kind
hinder the path to full consciousness. Have you finally reached your mature personality,
you can live and act as a real human.
Only a mankind,
who has reached full consciousness,
will survive in future !
